The Louisiana Office of Financial Institutions (LOFI) has been receiving inquiries about the recent civil litigation and investigation involving Robert Allen Stanford, his related companies, and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).   Currently, LOFI is working closely with the court-appointed Receiver, the SEC, and other state and federal regulatory agencies.  In the meantime, the Receiver has established a website and asked that all inquiries about accounts be directed to that website.  www.stanfordfinancialreceivership.com

The following are the most frequently asked questions to the LOFI:

 

 1.  Are all Stanford-related companies involved in the litigation and subject to the Receivership?

Yes.  All assets and records of the defendants are now under the sole control of the court and the Receiver is the sole executive officer of the Stanford Financial Group Receivership. 

 2.  Do you have the name and contact information for the court-appointed Receiver?

Yes.   Dallas, TX, based attorney, Ralph Janvey, has been appointed Receiver.  The Receiver has set up a website with information regarding the case that will be updated frequently as new information becomes available.  The website address is www.stanfordfinancialreceivership.com.

3.  Can I contact the receiver directly?

 Yes.  By email, at info@stanfordfinancialreceivership.com. 

 4.  If I have non-Stanford CD investments, when will I have access to those accounts?

The Receiver has indicated that he has directed his advisers and consultants to find a way to unfreeze those accounts that can be unfrozen as soon as practicable.  Again, please refer to the Receiver’s website for further updates.
